One of the pillars of the curriculum taught in all programs across ذكذكتسئµâ€™s two campuses is the One Health Initiative. This interdisciplinary approach recognizes ذكذكتسئµ fosters this core value by encouraging programs to collaborate and share their knowledge.
The One Health Initiative is especially important when it comes to caring for pediatric patients, since nearly every healthcare profession works with the pediatric population. Several special interest groups and clubs have been formed on the Glendale Campus for students to learn how to provide better care to children. Earlier this year, the College of Pharmacy, Glendale hosted the Inaugural Pediatric Professional Panel. This event brought together students and faculty experts from the Pharmacy, Podiatry, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Dental, Osteopathic Medicine, and Optometry Programs. More than 100 students and faculty attended the event, which was organized and run by students who wanted to learn how to better serve their future pediatric patients.
Several expert ذكذكتسئµ faculty members spoke on the panel, discussing multidisciplinary ethics, how to assess a pediatric patient as a whole, and the importance of programs working together to provide the best possible care.
“This panel was a great way to build interdisciplinary relationships and knowledge across our diverse campus. We hope to make it an annual event!†said Yian Zhang (AZCOM ’25), President of the Interprofessional Pediatrics Interest Group.
